Elsa Siugo is a Parisian singer songwriter. She works as a teacher with deaf students and children. The Deaf Community provided a major source of inspiration, concluding in a visual experience combining songs and signs. In 2003, Elsa makes her debut into the Paris music scene at the “Fête de la musique”, the performance leads to continued appearances in french venues. In 2006 she is awarded by CTN MUSIC and by the public as the ‘Best New Solo Artist’ and win the Club Drouot Contest. In February 2007, she sings for the first time in front of an English audience at the Cobden Club in London and is welcomed for her performance. She’s also interviewed by James Hoggarth at the local BBC in Hull. “Soothing, charming and calming voice. There are certain inflections and techniques that sound quite Celtic folk-influenced. We definitely can hear the Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell.” “Soulful voice, really haunting melodies, sound vulnerable but still very self-confident !” “Such a powerful crisp sound and meaningful lyrics, her music flows from the inside” (comments of her public) Her main influences are in the American and Canadian Folk-Rock but also in French Artists as Barbara or Léo Ferré. The lyrics are very important for her in french or english, in love songs as in more engaged ones. She records her first album « silence et bruit » in 2002 and has now written 30 songs. She has been on Tv as a « subway musician »… – on France 2 at the noon news, on November 2005 – on Direct 8 on March 2006 – on canadian TV Radio Canada on April 2006 …but also on german local TV, GIGA TV, in Cologne on August 2006.
