Natalie Prass, “Small and Sweet”

Natalie Prass

When checking out some fresh new sounds for my ears these last days, I was hooked by Natalie’s music, I was immediately touched by her voice (thought, not only her voice, I admit, she’s pretty gorgeous, click here to see the original picture size). So I started to love her quirky, unusual writing style. She’s a true artist and a star in the making, watch out folks!

But unfortunately, like many artists in the beginning, the’s no such informations about the girl native from Virginia Beach, who’s looking for an ambitious career in Nashville, the temple of Music. Working hard on her records: she released a first EP “SMALL AND SWEET” last summer on June containing 6 marvelous songs with a smart blend of folk, pop and soul. It’s hard to picture her singing without a wry smile wrapped around the words. Her syrup-smooth voice is almost like an invitation to her dancing melodies. The most impressive thing about Small and Sweet is the songwriting, constantly flowing between inventively upbeat and achingly honest. Her backing band is tasteful and gifted, providing the perfect bed on which Natalie’s dynamic folk-tinged gems lay. The arrangements are simply impeccable, highlighted by a clever horn section that makes multiple appearances at unexpected but opportune times. So, don’t wait! Buy Small & Sweet, you will thank me!

Natalie Prass performs also regularly in Nashville and occasionally on the East Coast and frequently writes music for other artists. She has much in common with her pals Brooke Waggoner and Madi Diaz who helped in the record (back vocals).

About her EP, Natalie says:”I get cozy. I love my surroundings. I take everything in and get super comfy cozy. I’m constantly seeking to be inspired and I hope you are someone who sought me out to find a little extra inspiration. I hope you listen while laying on your floor, or eating your favorite snack, or looking at a variety of pretty pictures. I hope after listening you will want to make something, whatever that may be. Write your friend a letter, construct a popsicle stick house for your pet rock, patch up the hole in your jeans with a crazy colored fabric, cookies (yum)
