She left us in 2007 with an impressive debut and critically acclaimed album APPLES & ORANGES, despite her young age, Newport Beach based singer/songwriter Stacy Clark has begun to carve her path to great a long, rewarding career.
Newly signed to Shangri-La Music, an independent boutique record label owned by Steve Bing and co-founded by music industry veterans: Jeff Ayeroff and Jon Rubin, the 23 years old girl is currently working on her 2010 record with producer Matt Appleton (Panic! At the Disco, The Veronicas, Foxy Shazam), but no need to wait more to get her new songs: her EP “Connect The Dots” is available to download, right now on itunes and Amazon.com
.
On her new EP “Connect The Dots” Stacy has moved away from the glistening electro-pop that was intertwined throughout her APPLES & ORANGES debut, blending some of her folk indie rock roots with the same infectious melodies. “Although my background is folk, I truly enjoy every genre of music“, she states. Working with producer and multi-instrumentalist, Matt Appleton, Stacy crafted songs orchestrated with ukelele, trumpet, clavichord and violin, the organic quality of which is mirrored lyrically by an honest and optimistic appraisal of life, love and everything that happens in between.
In some ways, Stacy Clark is in the veins of today new rising female artists, she can be compared to Charlotte Sometimes, with the charisma of Zooey Deschanel. Some of her new songs evokes a mix of Hayley Sales’s Seattle pop tunes with Priscilla Ahn’s enchanting folky guitar. Fresh, pure, just catchy as hell, that it is…
