Today we are very proud to take a part in Hope Waits’ sophomore album and pushing her career to the next level by making a donation, allowing her to complete her record in time.
Native from Louisiana, the cajun heart songwriter Hope Waits, now based in L.A has spent two weeks yet in pre-production with producer David Kalish who has worked with Rickie Lee Jones, Bette Midler, Tracy Chapman and Michelle Shocked. Unfortunately, she was $2,700 short to be able to record 3 more new songs, so the true music lovers we are, decided to give her a little financial support in order to record these new songs and submit them to various record labels and to generate a greater awareness for Hope Waits’ obvious talents cause she really deserves it!
On her mesmerizing self-titled debut album, two years ago, she does a Tom Waits song, (she is no relation to the genius junkyard bard) and had Peter Malick as producer. Critically acclaimed, Hope Waits gave us an impressive sultry, soulful, jazz-infused style. With her cover of Bob Dylan’s “Ring Them Bells” on this same debut album, she was simply full of grace and simply beautiful.
