All those pretty talents on CTNMUSIC and this one, this time, is a guy, not a girl, but he really deserves an exposure on our website. His name is Andrew Belle, and fortunately I discovered him playing with Katie Herzig.
Andrew Belle is a 24 year old singer-songwriter from Chicago, Ilinois. Combining hook-ridden melodies and powerful warm vocals, Fray-esque style rock around piano and lead guitar (and haircut too) a la Brett Dennen, Andrew Belle is becoming the next pretty promising singer/songwriter in the near future, he recently performed at the SXSW music festival and will share the Ten Out of Tenn FALL TOUR with Madi Diaz, Joy Williams and Sarah Siskind.
After a listen of his first EP, All Those Pretty Lights, you had to be agree with me, his songs and his writing is in the vein of his predecessors like The Fray, as I said, or Keane and maybe a little bit of Coldplay. The 5 songs EP tell stories of heart break and a lost soul, the EP is a bit sadly short, the sound of the album is most definitely radio ready, and no doubt radio friendly, but it’s not a default! The combination of a recognizable voice along with all too familiar arrangements works for him very well, and this is all we need to listen, nothing else!
All Those Pretty Lights will invades your stores this next few days on September 9. Have a listen to the title track here… surely you will love! Hope & wait for more songs in the coming months with his debut LP, The Ladder, with Grammy award winning mixing engineer Vance Powell (The Raconteurs)!
