EARLIER, LATER is a double-disc album, the fourth, from indie singer/songwriter Emme Packer and is about to be released this summer. Born and raised in Farmington, Utah, a small town just outside of Salt Lake City, the youngest of 7 children and looking for a place to fit in she taught herself to sing and play guitar at the age of 14, inspired by a female artist she saw on television.
A the age of 18, in 2003, came her first self produced album titled, DIRTY SECRET, she wrote and performed herself the songs inspired by her teenager’s life.
In 2005 Emme wrote, recorded and produced her second independent album, titled, BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME tooking a different approach when producing this second album, more mature and began playing shows on a regular basis. 2006 was spent on the road, supporting her second album with a west coast tour.
In 2007, Emme released her third album, JOY. THE MACHINE on her own newly formed independent label, Blue Siren Records, just quite simply one fantastic album, critic says.
But the best is yet to come with her last double album EARLIER, LATER and if you are interested in artists like Fiona Apple or Regina Spektor, we would encourage you to catch up on all of Emme’s works, you will I‘m sure find it nothing less than rewarding.
When asked about her ideas and inspiration for writing, Emme says, “All my prominent life experiences from the day. I was born to now are written about. Music is my way to get my head straight and to feel that I’ve grown in some way. We all have our struggles and our stories: this is what my music is about. If it can impact even one person in a positive way, then I feel it was worth all the embarrassing admissions.“
